As the abolitionist movement grew, Garrison himself felt that the abolitionist movement must be better organized. To begin, he had grouped up enough members to form an organization called, New England Antislavery Society. This was in 1832. Over the next several years, states started to come together and unite against slavery. Together and as Garrison as the leader, in 1833, they formed the American Antislavery Society. They would sponsor meetings, sign antislavery petitions, print propaganda, and more in the hopes to end slavery.
However, Garrison himself had different views as the majority of the organizations. The majority of the people were pro-union, but Garrison was an advocate of the Constitution being pro-slavery. He wants the Constitution to be changed!
